STUDIO

Nazaret Nascimento is the head of the “imagens no ponto” studio with over a decade of experience in food and product photography and food styling.

Nazaret and her team regularly work with some of the main distribution, food production and cosmetics companies in Portugal, as well as with a renowned communications agency in Spain. It also has some long-standing partnerships with some influencers in the area of gastronomic content creation, including nutritionist Iara Rodrigues.

Norma Lima has been involved as the main food stylist in the creation of commercial photos and films for over 30 years, carrying out incredible work between Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Recife and Brasília for countless advertising agencies, major national and international brands, communication studios, direct clients and photographers.

His vast experience in food styling has naturally led him to want to share what he has learned and developed over the years. Since 2014 she has taught at the AIC (International Film School) and since 2016 she has started a program of food styling workshops and mentoring.

Turning food into an object of desire is a passion for Norma!

THE HAMBURGER.

Theme

Since the hamburger is one of the dishes/recipes that involves the most steps and complexity when it comes to styling and making it shine for any food stylist or food photographer, we decided to choose it as the main tool for demonstrating lighting/food styling techniques that can be adapted to a wide range of other recipes (steaks, salads, sandwiches, etc.).

Materials included:
During the workshop, participants will be provided with all the necessary ingredients to be able to apply in practice all the techniques of food styling and creations of scenery and photographic composition.

Materials needed:
Participants will be encouraged to bring their own photographic equipment (cell phone or camera) so that they can enjoy the practical part 100%.
After the workshop you will receive an e-book where you can review the main food styling and food photography techniques you learned during the workshop.

WORKSHOP CONTENT / PROGRAM

MORNING PART – Theory

10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
LIGHTING AND COMPOSITION ideal for food photography:
Description and demonstration of the set-up and positioning of the ideal light to enhance the beauty of the hamburger.

Topics to be covered:

  • How to photograph food with your cell phone
  • Essential apps/programs for post-production and editing on your phone or computer
  • How to take good food photos with just one light source (window or artificial light source)
  • DYI light shaping accessories/materials


FOOD STYLING TECHNIQUES:
Description and demonstration of the various food styling techniques/steps needed to build a hamburger to be photographed.

Techniques to be covered:

  • Selection of ingredients
  • Sealing the bread
  • Meat preparation
  • How to prevent the meat sauce from moistening the bread.
  • Crispy and wavy bacon
  • Ways to melt cheese
  • Cutting ingredients (tomatoes/onions)
  • Fresh and safe salads on bread
  • Sauces, consistencies and applications
  • Step-by-step assembly


Afternoon – Practice

2pm to 7pm

Participants will have the opportunity to apply the techniques taught in the morning using the selection of ingredients, accessories and kitchen utensils provided by the imagens no ponto studio.

All the images produced by the participants can be published on their social networks or other media, with the only request being to mention the workshop.

Who it’s aimed at: food content creators, food photographers, foodies, food stylists, nutritionists, etc., who usually share their recipes via photos on social media and would like to know how they can speed up their food styling process while increasing the quality of their images.

INVESTIGATION: 150€ per person.
